Canadian Hemlock

This evergreen conifer native to eastern North America is highly valued for its graceful, pyramidal form and its unique ability to thrive in deep shade where most other evergreens struggle. Requires moist, well-drained, acidic soil rich in organic matter. It is not drought-tolerant and needs regular watering during dry spells, especially when young. At maturity this evergreen will reach 40-70 feet tall and 25-35 feet wide.
